The Panhandle Supersonics Flyball team was formed in 2004 by Sharon Aizer and her canine companion, Dixie (ONYX*), who introduced the sport to this area. Sharon has since relocated, but we continue her Flyball legacy. We are a competitive team and while we strive for our dogs and handlers to perform to the best of their ability, our primary goal is to have a good time with our teammates - human and canine - and to play safely and smartly.

Flyball is an amateur sport and our hobby. To that end, these are the priorities (in order of importance) of the Panhandle Supersonics.

bullet Health and well-being of our dogs and handlers
bullet Friendship
bullet Improving our relationships with our dogs
bullet Exemplifying responsible dog ownership and sportsmanship
bullet Maximizing athletic potential of our dogs
bullet Accumulating Flyball points by running clean
bullet Improving on team speed
bullet Winning our division in a tournament

Aside from racing, the Supersonics also perform Flyball demonstrations at local festivals and events as a way of promoting the sport in our community. The demonstrations give our inexperienced dogs an opportunity to race in a non-competitive situation in preparation for tournament racing.

*Dixie accumulated over 20,000 points, earning her ONYX title in April 2005 in Perry, Georgia.
